Having had the opportunity to try out the Green Apple flavor, I can attest that it tastes just like the soda, with no weedy taste or aftertaste—just straight soda goodness. As with all Jones’ sodas, visually it comes in a cornucopia of colors, with the satisfying fizz of a properly carbonated drink. I find it also lacks some of the perfumy flavor that some brands use to mask the taste of the weed; Jones does not have that in the slightest. If you gave it to someone without telling them it’s infused, I bet they couldn’t even tell the difference!

Effects:

While I cannot personally attest to what the effects are like, as my tolerance is too high for 10mg of THC to affect me, like most ingestibles, it could potentially take at least an hour for the effects to kick in. But once they do, you should feel a full-body buzz that most edibles provide.

How much does it cost?

At $7.95 a can, it isn’t going to break the bank. Comparatively, a can of XMG is $6.95, so it falls within the acceptable range when it comes to the cost of a can. Personally, I would pay the extra dollar to get the Jones’ soda to avoid that perfumy smell and taste that other brands might use to mask the flavor and smell. There’s no option to buy a multipack, so it can get expensive if your tolerance is high. But if you enjoy edibles on a regular basis and get good effects from them, then this is a treat you do not want to pass up.

In this bag, we have Cheetah Piss, Cake Mix, Madrina, and Laughing Gas. Based on the dominant terpenes listed on the back, two of these could be considered sativas (Laughing Gas [Sour Diesel x Cherry Pie] and Madrina [Last OG x Apples and Bananas]), and two could be indicas (Cake Mix [London Pound Cake x Wedding Cake] & Cheetah P [Lemonade x Gelato 42 x London Pound Cake 97]). But it takes more than just throwing four cultivars in a bag and calling it a day; they’ve really stepped up their quality game compared to the old Canadian Cookies product.

Aromatic and Visual Profile:

The first thing you’ll notice when you open the bag is the strong odor. My bags (bought twice now) were both quite pungent upon opening—a good sign when you spend a decent amount of money on weed. All four cultivars looked really nice, with plenty of trichomes covering the buds. Madrina is especially striking with a lot of purple mixed with green. The buds were all nicely moist, although Cake Mix was a little dry, but that’s nothing a humidity pack can’t fix. In terms of aroma, Cheetah P definitely stands out as the most uniquely scented—funky and potent.

Effects:

The effects of the four cultivars will obviously vary depending on the dominant terpenes present in the cannabis. As mentioned earlier, Madrina and Laughing Gas are both uplifting and energetic strains with a high amount of limonene, a terpene generally found in traditional sativa strains. Meanwhile, Cheetah P and Cake Mix are high in caryophyllene, which is known for its relaxing effects.

How Much Does It Cost?

$150.10 for an ounce is definitely within a reasonable range for weed. Budget ounces usually start at around $100, so paying an extra $50 for four unique cultivars that are well-grown is quite special, in my opinion. As someone who likes to purchase their cannabis in bulk, this product appeals to me, simply for the fact that I can switch between the four strains whenever I want, and I’m getting my money’s worth in weight. My benchmark for whether something on the market is expensive is whether or not it crosses the $10/g threshold. That’s my defining line; yours might be different depending on various factors, but to me, $10/g is pricey for a premium product. While this bag certainly offers premium quality, they are not charging premium prices for it, which is why, at least to me, it is a great value for bulk buyers or for someone who likes to switch between strains a lot and would rather not pay $50 for a half-quarter to get some variety of premium bud. Good job, Cookies! You’ve certainly done a 180 since you first entered the Canadian market.

Galactic Rntz Strain Review

Hey! Today we are reviewing a product from the good people at Tribal from Saint-Laurent, Quebec, whose products include Gelato Mint, the ever popular Cuban Linx and Terple. But today we are reviewing their wonderful take on the Rntz strain with Galactic Rntz. So grab your astronaut pants, as we are about to blast off with this great product.

What makes it special?

The lineage of this flower (Falcon 9x Runtz) gives it a sweet candy but gassy aroma when you first open the airtight tuna can. This beautiful bud has light and dark green hues mixed with speckles of purple here and there, making for a truly sensory experience just from opening the can! Some effects you’ll experience are relaxing and euphoric with a slight uplifting feeling, a unique trio experience because of the limonene, caryophyllene and linalool.

Terpene Profile:

Linalool–known to be relaxing in its effects, occurs naturally in many things, including lavender and lots of perfumed personal hygiene products. Known to reduce stress, anxiety and have pain-relieving effects as well. Usually a minor terpene, the higher levels of linalool in this strain can give it more sedative effects compared to other strains.

Caryophyllene – the only terpene that also acts as a cannabinoid, found primarily in hops, cloves, black pepper and, amongst other things. It may be anti-inflammatory and have stress relieving properties. Strains of cannabis that contain higher amounts of caryophyllene include Gorilla Glue, Cookies and Cream, OG Kush, Sour Diesel and Candyland.

Limonene – takes its name from the Italian lemon (limone). It is a major component that gives citrus fruits peels their smell and taste. Limonene can also have its uses as a solvent in industrial applications as an adhesive remover as well as infused filament 3D printing! It imparts an uplifting feeling, which you can find in many sativa leaning cannabis strains.

How much does it cost?

$29.95, compared to other Rntz strains on the market, this is on the lower side of the scale. It certainly does not mean it lacks in quality! The value this bud provides is fantastic. At under $10/gram, it offers high-quality cannabis at an affordable price for those looking for a deal or just those who are looking for a unique product without breaking the bank.

This wonderful flower is worth every cent! From the airtight tuna can to seal in freshness and those wonderful terpenes, to the cure efforts made by the team at Tribal, they have truly released a remarkable product for this price. Wonderful cannabis that gives you this quality and saves you a few dollars here and there is a win in my books. I hope you get to try this out soon for yourself!

Hey! Today the product we are focusing on is Fresh Frozen Hash Rosin by our friends at Nugz!

What makes it special?

The fresh frozen part means that the plant matter was not cured and was frozen, sieving the flower through 159-45 micrometer wash bags to create this wonderful product we have before us today. Just by looking at the packaging, you know Nugz pays attention to the little details as a lot of important information is already available on the package. The packaging lists the strain (Terple), total terpenes, THC and CBD content, the temperature at which it was pressed, the micron size of the bags used, and the package date. That is a lot of info!

Terpene Profile:

Farnesene – 1.7% – known for its calming and sedative effects as well as some anti-inflammatory properties. Found mainly in hops, ginger, and sandalwood.

Caryophyllene – 1.7% – known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It is unique in that it provides those benefits without the euphoric feeling usually associated with cannabis.

Limonene – 1.3% – mainly found in citrus peel, there are many potential health benefits, such as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

How much does it cost?

$49.95. One of the best value-for-dollar concentrates products on the market right now.

Rating: 9/10

The quality of the rosin, the packaging, and the information presented on the packaging are all wonderful. Rosins can be a pricier option than resins, but with this Nugz product, you are getting a lot of bang for your buck. I would highly recommend it.
